Studied psychology and communication and professionally trained in law, Vania is an amateur photographer mesmerized by the shutter sound of her camera at a young age while studying in Canada (that explains why she is now a Nikon user LOL).
Vania felt in love with the ocean when her parents took her to Guam where she did her first DSD when she was 14. She got her OW in the end of 2009 and has been shooting underwater ever since in her spare time.
Vania's underwater photos have won several awards. She is the 1st runner-up and received two outstanding awards (wide angle category) in the Hong Kong Underwater Photo and Video Competition 2013.
Her underwater photos have also been published in a local newspaper and have been selected as one of the finalists in the National Geographic Channel Photo Competition (NatGeo Award HK) in 2012 and 2013.
"I believe every photo captured with heart and soul is unique and beautiful; every press of the shutter is a new learning experience."
