UWP: PAULINE WALSH JACOBSON

Pauline Walsh Jacobson received her PADI open water dive certification in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 1994. It didn't take long for her to develop an interest in capturing the beauty of the underwater world in photographs, so in 1995, she purchased her first underwater camera, a Nikonos V. Pauline's original reason for doing so was to collect subject matter for her marine life watercolor paintings, but it soon turned into a full blown love affair with underwater photography. After a few years with the Nikonos, she migrated to a housed Nikon SLR film camera. When digital cameras became affordable, she moved to an Olympus E300 dSLR. Due to the difficulty of traveling overseas with bulky photographic equipment, she eventually switched to the more compact Canon G-series cameras which she still uses today.

Pauline holds a bachelors degree in fine art and an SSI master diver certification. In addition to developing an extensive photographic library, Pauline has also created many marine life watercolor paintings, and sells both her paintings and photographic prints at arts and crafts fairs and festivals in her home town, Austin, Texas and in galleries and gift shops in the Virgin Islands.  Pauline and her husband Kent, take several trips a year to dive and photograph marine life. Past trips include the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Belize, Bonaire, Cozumel, Turks and Caicos Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Australia, Indonesia and the Red Sea.
