JOSE MANUEL MIRO' GUMBAU
I was born in 1989, in Burriana (Spain) a village bathed by the water of the Mediterranean Sea. It was 1998 when my father bought a boat, in which we started sailing through Alicante and Baleares’ coasts. I spent all day long underwater doing snorkel, so I only climbed up into the boat to eat. My passion for the sea had just begun. I still remember my parents buyingfixed-focused lens KODAK disposable cameras, and while I swam, I did what would become my first steps in underwater photography.
It was not until 2008 that I completed my first ever diving course using bottles. From then on, I conceived another way of diving and later, in 2011, I bought my first digital camera and started to take my first underwater digital photographs. Nowadays I cannot imagine diving without my camera and without taking photos.
In 2012 I made my first diving trip to Sharm el Sheikh, in the Red Sea, which I did again in 2013.
In 2014 I started to sign into underwater photography competitions, both online and in person, using alwaysa compact camera.
